Teenage Hana is used to constantly moving schools. But when her father’s old watch breaks on her first day at a new school, she finds herself trapped in a time loop, repeating that day. She must find a way to connect with others and break out of the loop, or be doomed to forever remain…the new kid.

The New Kid is a musical designed for youth theatre, with a pop-MT score. It was commissioned by Aberdeen Arts Centre for their youth company, and premiered with their young cast in summer 2023.
